Both routes cover the same highlights and temples. Luxor to Aswan gives you the classic downstream journey with more sailing time. Aswan to Luxor is upstream and slightly shorter on the water.
October through April offers the most pleasant weather (20–28°C). Peak season is December–February. Summer cruises (June–August) are hotter but significantly cheaper.
